Anchor bolts are cast into concrete before it cures, which means there's no second chance to fix a placement error the way there is with a post-installed anchor — the embedment depth, projection length, and bolt pattern all need to be correct on the structural drawing before the pour, not adjusted afterward. This is why anchor bolt orders are almost always tied to an approved structural drawing rather than a generic catalog size.
